Who are you living for and seeking to please? Yourself? Others? Today Colin Adams shows that Paul had been instructing the Thessalonians in a better way, that of living for God. By the authority of the Lord Jesus he acknowledges that they are seeking to do so. He encourages them to do even more.
Paul focuses on two areas of life: sex and work with loving care for one another as a bridging theme between, that governs each of them. God instituted sex to be practiced within a lifelong marriage between a man and woman, in purity and faithfulness, not harming others.
When God placed humans on earth, he gave them work to do. We should mind our own business working with our own hands, and not sponge on others.
