Thoughts in the Night and Thoughts in the Light – Psalm 16

Thoughts in the Night and Thoughts in the Light – Psalm 16

This evening, Craig Dyer Follows David’s thoughts in Psalm 16.  In verse 7 David appears to be having sleepless thoughts in the night.  Verse one suggests that his initial thoughts were fearful as he asks God to keep him safe.  His statement of relief in verse 10 that God will save him from burial and decay suggest that his fears included the likelihood of death.  However, he has put his trust in Jehovah, the name by which God revealed himself to Israel.  As he reviews all that God has done for him, his confidence increases.  In verse 8 he declares that, with God at his right hand, he will not be shaken.  In light of that, he finishes the Psalm with rejoicing.
