Today’s passage tells of the institution of the Lord’s Supper, or Communion. Andy Macdonald explains why the crucifixion had to be on the Passover date, even though his enemies planned otherwise. It was because Jesus’ death fulfilled what the Passover foretold.
Then Jesus took bread and wine, two elements at the end of the memorial Passover feast. From these He instituted a new memorial ceremony to remind us of His death for us.
