This evening, David Church looks at Psalm 84. This is not one of the official ‘Songs of Ascent’ but it has a strong feeling of pilgrimage. The psalmist is yearning to be in the House of the Lord, to be near Him, to worship Him. He would rather be there for a single day than a thousand elsewhere. But he longs to remain for ever, even if only as a doorkeeper.
But what about us? Do we long to be near the Lord, to worship Him? Yes, but we don’t need to go to a unique building in a specified city. Jesus Christ is our tabernacle. We can worship Him wherever we may live. Let us draw near.
