This Morning Ernie Bayton highlights the fact that every coin has two sides. Paul has been stressing what we should believe, but he now turns to how we should behave in light of what we believe. He has listed our privileges, and freedom, but he now turns to our responsibilities, which are the other side of the coin.
In today’s passage he explores our responsibility: to our fellow believers, to our Lord, and to everybody. Ernie summarises it with a quote from Luther, “Good works don’t make a good man, but a good man does good works”.
