Does Worship Need to be Orderly? – 1 Corinthians Ch14v26to40

This morning, Colin Adams reminds us that Paul isn’t giving us a blueprint for services.  There are big gaps, things missing which appear elsewhere.  No, Paul is acting as a trouble shooter, correcting things the Corinthians had wrong.  Paul’s own summary of this week’s passage is that, everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.  Order isn’t a killjoy.  Instead, order is the way of love, because:

  • Order builds up others.
  • Order reflects who God is.
  • Order is life giving.
  • Order brings peace.
