After an introduction about the North Korean church, which is strong and well despite the terrible persecution they face, Colin compares it with the church in Thessalonica. This was a new church, which Paul and his fellow workers had seen begin. But then they were driven out by a hired mob and had to abandon it. From Corinth Paul sent Timothy back to see how they were coping. Timothy returned with a glowing report. Paul then wrote to them with joy because they are displaying three of the marks of an authentic church.
1. They display faith that works, love that labours and hope that endures.
2. They welcomed the message, whatever it cost.
3. They became a witness far and wide.
