We are seeking to serve the families of our church and community by providing a safe and loving environment where our dedicated team of children’s ministry volunteers can help your children and young people.
Crèche (under 3s)
We provide a crèche during the Morning Service for under 3s. Children leave the service at the same time as Sunday School.
Sunday School (age 3 to P7)
Sunday School meets during the Morning Service, and is for children aged 3 to Primary 7. We are glad to welcome any new children to come and join us anytime!
Except for when we have Junior Church (see below), children start off in the main service with their parents. We then leave part way through the service to go to our Sunday School classes.
We run our classes across 3 age groups:
Adventurers is for preschool children (from age 3)
Explorers is for children in Primary 1 to 3
Pioneers is for children in Primary 4 to 7
Junior Church (age 3 to P7)
Every second Sunday of the month, all Sunday School classes join together for Junior Church, where we sing songs and learn memory verses.
We meet upstairs from the beginning of the service (11am), before splitting off to our different Sunday School classes. Pick up is from your child’s usual Sunday School room.
(On these Sundays, crèche children start off in the service with their parents, and leave part way through, as usual.)
Discovery Club
During the school summer holidays we run a club with games, quizzes, Bible stories and lots of fun! We are planning for this to take place again this summer. Please refer to our Discovery Club page.
S1 – S6: Youth Ministry
We know that Youth are under pressure…pluralism, relativism, sexualisation, materialism, secularism and the god of self and self-image.
These cultural pressures can be seen in a variety of ways which affect young people – such as escapism into drugs, alcohol or pornography; self-image problems; narcissism and self-absorption; fear of commitment; promiscuity and lack of confidence and embarrassment in the Christian faith.
It is in this environment that Greenview Youth ministry operates – seeking to apply timeless biblical truths to contemporary challenges and the unique life-stage of young people. The ultimate aim of Christian youth work is the same as all Christian ministry – to fulfil the Great Commission by ‘making disciples’ (Matthew 28:18-20). We minister to young people in their teens because the gospel of Jesus is the best news for teen life in the 21st Century. Currently, the regular activities are:

Youth Fellowship runs during term times for S1 -S6 young people on Sunday evenings, alternating between 6pm start (when in church) and 7.30pm (when in homes).
Christians in Sport
If you’re in a sports team and playing competitively, there’s an opportunity throughout the year at Pray, Play, Say to meet with other youth involved with sports. This is a time for friendship, encouragement and learning how to be a witness for God in your sport. Pray, Play, Say runs 4 times a year. They also organise All In events; everyone is invited to join in the sports fun no matter how uncoordinated you are! Last year’s dodgeball tournament was a huge success – we can’t wait to run it again this year with even more dressing up and war paint!
Other Youth related things:
- We engage with parents (and hold a yearly Parents lunch to discuss relevant aspects of the youth ministry)
- Young people are involved in various ministries such as music and children’s work
- Actively encourage prayer for youth, their parents and youth leaders
- We run Youth Weekends, and various ‘days out’, ‘nights in’
- We encourage young people to go to a summer conference or camp: e.g. Abernethy, Christians in Sport, Contagious, SU Holidays
Young Adults (18-30)
Our Young Adults group exists to gather, foster and encourage the community of young Christian adults at Greenview to grow in and live for Christ inside and outside the church family. Our young adults, from around 18-30 years old, meet mostly on Sunday afternoons for lunch, but also have occasional events to meet and spur each other on in following Christ in all aspects of our lives.
We also encourage students to meet with their fellow Christians in the Christian Unions that operate across the Universities and Colleges under UCCF Scotland. UCCF exists to encourage Christian students to reach other students with the gospel.
