Dear Church Family,
As we step into the third and final term of our Community Group year, I want to take a moment to encourage each of us to make the most of this special season. For the past four years, many of us have journeyed together in the same small groups—learning, laughing, praying, mourning and growing side by side. After the summer, we’ll be reshuffling our groups to open up new opportunities for connection and growth. That means that this final term is not just “another few months”—it’s the last chapter of a meaningful season. Let’s not let it go out with a whimper.
Let’s be intentional about showing up, about encouraging one another, about deepening our bonds of fellowship. Hebrews 10:24–25 says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Let’s live that out this term. These final gatherings are a chance to honour what God has done and prepare our hearts for what He’s going to do next.
I also want to gently encourage all of us to make space in our schedules for our fortnightly Thursday night prayer meetings. These are powerful, unifying times where we seek God together and lift up the needs of our church, our community, and our world. Yet sometimes our numbers are few, and the range of people present doesn’t always reflect the range of our church family. I would love to see these gatherings better mirror the church that we are – with every generation, at every stage of life, all coming together with one voice and one heart.
The early church was marked by this prayerful togetherness, being devoted not just to the apostle’s teaching and breaking of bread, but fellowship and prayer (Acts 2:42).
Let’s carry on that legacy. Your presence and participation matter more than you know.
