Jesus of Nazareth was a real historical figure and the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) are complementary accounts of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. These records show us that Jesus was no ordinary man. He was God in the flesh, the only Saviour of sinners and the risen Lord over death.
Our core statement of beliefs can be found here:
- the Divine Inspiration, Authority and Sufficiency of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:15-17);
- that God exists eternally in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to whom equal honour is due (Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6);
- that God created human beings perfect in His own image and that he created them male and female (Genesis 1:27);
- that the first humans rebelled against God’s rule resulting in the depravity of the human race (1 Corinthians 15:22; Romans 3:23);
- that Jesus Christ, unique Son of God, became man, being begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (John 1:1-14; Matthew 1:23);
- that he died for our sins, was buried and rose again for our justification (Romans 4:24-25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4);
- that he ascended to the right hand of God and is now the all-sufficient High Priest of his people (Acts 1:9-11; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 7:23-28);
- that he personally will return to receive His people and judge the world in righteousness (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10,4:16-17; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10;
- that the sinner is justified before God by faith in Jesus Christ alone (John 3:16-18; John 14:6; Acts 16:31);
- that the work of the Holy Spirit is necessary in regeneration and sanctification (Titus 3:4-7);
- that at death the human soul does not cease to exist or become unconscious (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8);
- that the dead will be raised either to life or condemnation (John 5:28-29); and
- that the blessedness of the righteous and the punishment of the unrighteous will be alike eternal (Matthew 25:46).

We are also part of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, and hold beliefs consistent with FIEC’s doctrinal and ethos statements.
We seek to hold all of our beliefs in charity and love, knowing that while truth is vital, love is equally important.
